This application introduces the general concept/technique of an action spectrum, and shows how it can be used to learn something about the fundamental mechanism(s) involved in a biological response to light. The application also simulates plant phototropism from which an action spectrum for the response can be obtained and analyzed.
Phototropism is used in Introductory Biology II: Organism Diversity, Form, and Function and in Plant Physiology at Allegheny College.
This application was developed under NeXTstep release 2.2.
